The National Pan American Golf Association (P.A.G.A.) originated in 1947 when a golf group known as the Fore Golfers of San Antonio adopted the name "Pan American Golf Association". In 1956, all existing chapters, San Antonio, Houston, Ft. Worth, Dallas, Alice, Austin and Brownsville met together for the first time and voted to become a State Organization and was chartered that same year in the State of Texas. In 1963, Oklahoma City joined the Pan American Golf Associaton and we became a National Organization.
In 1972, a group of golfers who played at Ascarate Golf Course were introduced to the Pan American Golf Association through professional golfer Lee Trevino. The El Paso Chapter was founded in 1972 and became a part of this National Association.
